Once your new website is live on the Internet you will want as many people as possible to find it. The most obvious way to give your site widespread visibility is to ensure that it appears high on the list of search results on the major search engines - Google, Yahoo etc.

There are many different techniques which can be used to improve your chances of a high search engine ranking. If you request this service we will use all available methods to achieve as high a ranking as possible, and will also register your site with the most popular search engines1 at no extra charge. It will take a few weeks after registration for your site to begin to appear on the search listings: not a process that can be hurried unfortunately!

One excellent way of improving your search engine popularity is to have plenty of 'inbound links' to your site, that is: other sites which contain a link to your site. We can help with finding useful, relevant links for your business, and you may be able to assist with this task yourself by suggesting other companies who you think might be prepared to exchange a link with you.
Having optimised your website initially, we would suggest a regular monthly or quarterly review of the optimisation parameters, just to keep an eye on your rankings with the major search engines and to perform a few 'tweaks' here and there where necessary. This type of regular checking should keep you where you want to be.

A word of warning by the way: There are many companies out there who make search engine optimisation sound a simple task. You will be offered such extravagant promises as "You will be at the top of the Google rankings within a couple of days" or "We will establish 1000 inbound links for your site immediately". Please be aware that, in general, if an offer sounds too good to be true then it generally is. How high you rank on the major search engines is governed by a large number of factors as explained briefly above, not least the efforts that your competitors will regularly be making to beat you in the rankings! In other words, achieving a satisfactory position in Google, Yahoo etc. is not a 'one-off' task. Effective optimisation requires frequent review, and careful choice of good quality inbound links. Fifty relevant links into your site will be looked upon more favourably than one thousand meaningless ones...
1 Even without registration your site would eventually be picked up by the various search engine's as they periodically 'crawl' the web for new sites. It makes sense to register early though, to get things moving promptly.
